Finally joined Southview Country Club

by Admin 3. April 2010 21:50

After much thought and consideration, we have finally joined Southview Country Club!  We have managed to play our first round.  I wish I had played better, but I can not really complain for the first round of the year.  On April 3 no less!

Lenovo Thinkpad W510 problem

by Admin 30. March 2010 09:04

I recently recieved my new Lenovo Thinkpad W510 and despite liking many things about the laptop I am growing more and more frustrated with the blue screen of death issue relating to the GOBI 2000 wireless card when used with an AT&T sim card.  The behavior is installing an AT&T sim card causes a bluescreen.  Without the card everything functions just fine.  You can boot and operate with a blue screen with the SIM installed if Access Connections are installed; that poses a few problems though.  First, I like Access Connections, second, how do you use the 3g card then!

Some reports are blaming it on a wireless adapter problem.  Yet others say downgra... [More]

2nd visit to Southview Country Club

by Admin 21. March 2010 11:15

After our first visit to Southview Country Club it became very clear from our meeting with Mark that we really needed to consider joining.  Mark and staff were very helpful in providing information about the club and in getting us very excited about joining.  The only thing left to determine is if we would enjoy it while it was open.  Mark was generous enough to invite us out for Friday night's happy hour and for dinner which we took him up on this past Friday.  On our way there we were not sure what to expect, what type of people we would encounter and if we would enjoy ourselves.

Upon arriving Mark took a second... [More]

Today's Visit To Southview Country Club, West St. Paul, MN

by Admin 16. March 2010 19:26

This afternoon my wife and I took an up close look at the offering of Southview Country Club in West St. Paul, MN.  We have been seeking a course to call ours and it has not been an easy process.  We are fortunate that despite Minnesota having a golf "season" instead of year round golf to have many fine golf courses in our area.  As we began our search it became very clear to us that not all courses are equal (private or public) and that not all courses are welcoming.

Initially we began evaluating all courses; however, it quickly became evident that most public courses simply do not offer enough value relative to their price... [More]

Microsoft Photosynth - Part 1 of 2

by Admin 29. April 2009 09:16

Microsoft Photosynth is a cool application / service.  What does it do?  Microsoft says "Photosynth creates an amazing new experience with nothing more than a bunch of photos. Creating a synth allows you to share the places and things you love using the cinematic quality of a movie, the control of a video game, and the mind-blowing detail of the real world."  Though a nice description, it does not really tell you what it does.

Simply put, it takes a number of photos you provide to create as complete of a composite as possible.  In good examples making the some of the photos a much more complete picture than any individua... [More]

BugTracker.NET Installation

by Admin 28. April 2009 10:37

I just completed the setup of BugTracker.NET at The BureauPatrick had found it and though it lacks UI candy, it looked like a very good tool / resource.  It is a web based bug tracking tool for software development teams.  It is free and simple to use.  At first glance, it looks a bit ugly, there is definately room for a lot of enhancement to the user interface.  That being said it very elagantly accomplishes what is necessary to track bugs, issues, feature opportunities, etc. within the application development process.

Password Generator Widget Version 1.0.0.0 Is Now Available

by Admin 27. April 2009 20:26

It took a little longer than I had wanted; however, it is done and ready.  You can download version 1.0.0.0 of the PasswordGenerator Widget from this post below.  This widget is designed to work with Blogengine.  I have tested it on version 1.4.5.14 with both a back end MS SQL database and the xml backend.  Both seem to work fine.  The widget is very simple, but handy.  I hope it will help others figure out how to write there own widgets and extensions.  It is available for free (however, I offer no guarantee that it will funciton).  Please feel free to do with it what you will.  If you do find pro...
